Wireless Alarm for Door and Window Review

This wireless alarm (sku.826) consists of two small pieces, one containing 3 (three) LR44 batteries (or AG13) and a ON/OFF switch and the other containing only a magnetic bar. When these pieces get separate, for example when a door is opened, the alarm goes off a loud sound and treble (90dB to 105dB), which ends scaring any undesirable person.

It is not necessary to use wires, the alarm is small and both pieces that compound the alarm have a double-side adhesive tape backside to simplify the attachment.

Ease of Use

This wireless alarm is recommended to be used on doors and windows of your house, but you also can use it to secure compartments, for instance.

To install the home alarm, you just need to stick (use the double-side adhesive tape) the main piece (that one with the batteries) on the edge of your door (or window), stick the other piece on the door frame and turn on the alarm, but make sure that the two pieces are aligned (there is a reference line on the main piece).

The maximum distance between the two pieces without the alarm going off is 10 mm (approximately).

Price

Considering its usefulness, this wireless entry alarm has a good cost/benefit relation with its price for about $1.8 at Dealextreme (also sold at Tinydeal).

If you are looking for a cheap home alarm, then probably this one will be a great candidate.

Build Quality

Regarding the build quality, the wireless alarm has a loud sound and the double-side adhesive tape is OK. The only problem was that we bought 3 (three) alarms, but 1 (one) of them did not work.

Usefulness

Although simple, this wireless alarm is very useful for those who want to spend a bit and have a simple solution to protect their homes. If you prefer, you can also use it, for instance, to avoid children from opening doors of compartments containing hazardous materials.

As discussed in the Dealextreme's forum, perhaps the loud sound can makes some animals feel stressed. Unfortunately, we could not confirm that, so it is up to you to be careful when the wireless alarm goes off.

Projection Clock Keychain Review

This small item is a projection clock keychain (sku.1489) powered by 2 (two) LR44 (or AG13) batteries (included). In other words, it projects the time onto any surface when you press the ON button.

It shows time only at 12 hours format (forget 24 hours format), has an English manual (it is explained how to set date and time) and come in a box.

Style

We ordered this product from Dealextreme and it seems that it only sells the black version of this item. However, Focalprice has a page to sell black, blue, silver and red versions (shipped randomly) and Tinydeal has this keychain in black, blue and red.

Price

Regarding the price, this projection clock keychain costs about $2.2 (Dealextreme, Focalprice and Tinydeal), which can be considered cheap, specially because it is hard to find it anywhere else.

Build Quality

In this aspect, there are two major concerns about this projection clock keychain. First, it is fragile. Avoid any sort of hit or falls if you want that your projection clock keychain keep working. Second, you can have the bad luck of receiving a damaged item that shows a digital number different from zero to nine or even do not work.

Briefly, we think that it is not a product with good build quality.

Usefulness

As the explicit title, this product is a keychain and a clock. However, like we said, it is hard to find it and it is very cheap, so you also should consider it as a gift to give to someone else, but do not forget to buy reserve batteries.

Multi-colored LED Ball Review

This multi-colored LED ball (sku.02041) is a great decorative light sold at Dealextreme. The multi-colored LED emits a bright light and keeps switching among 7 (seven) different colors during a few second (see the video below).

It has a ON/OFF switch and it is powered by 3 (three) LR44 batteries (included), but AG13 batteries can be used.

Price

For about $3 (three) you can buy this multi-colored LED ball at Tinydeal or Dealextreme, something relatively cheap considering that you hardly will find it in any store of your city (for now).

Build Quality

The LED ball itself is well made, but its box is a little fragile, like is showed on the above images. But that is not something to worry about.

Usefulness

You can use this multi-colored LED ball as a decorative light of your home or office desk. Or maybe send it as a gift for someone else.

In any case, you should consider the battery life, because they will not last forever. We recommend that you buy a pack containing 50 (fifty) AG13 batteries (for about $4.5) or modify the LED ball to use an external power (USB power, like was suggested for some users of Dealextreme).
